Food for a Ten Day / Three Person Backcountry Trip: BWCA 2018

I still love everything about canoe tripping, even the preparations. Finding lightweight foods safe to carry without refrigeration that fit the blue barrel and satisfy the divergent palates of the entire family poses a fun challenge. This year I've planned meals for three people for our family's 10 day canoe trip in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA). 





This menu plan provides enough food for a 10 day / 9 night canoe trip for our family (2 adults and 1 child). When I pack for these trips I pack meals that are served hot, as well as cold, snacky meals that can be eaten on the go. I also bring contingency items in case we get wind bound and stay longer than planned, or for my daughter for when she dislikes what the adults are eating.
